Dr. Ganesh Bora is a Precision Agriculture and Machinery Systems Expert atMississippi State University (MSU), USA. Currently he is an Associate Professor in Agriculture and Biological Engineering Department of MSU.Dr. Bora is the present Chair (2016-17) of the USDA Committee NCERA180: Precision Agriculture Technologies for Food, Fiber, and Energy Production. A highly regarded experienced professor for 25 years in precision agriculture, Dr. Bora conducts research in telemetry in agriculture,UAS in precision agriculture, data management, precision planting, energy saving through auto-guidance systems, sensing techniques for variable rate technology, mitigation of climate change through precision farming, PWM techniques for precision anhydrous ammonia application, renewable energy. He was the Director of NDSU’s Bio-Imaging and Sensing Center from 2010 to 2016. He also received Superior Paper and AE50 award from American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and currently the Chair of ASABE’s Graduate and Undergraduate Instruction Committee. Dr. Ganesh Bora has maintained excellent global presence, received patent in Kazakhstan for Helio Dryer and conducted workshops in Vietnam, Thailand, India and Bangladesh in 2015, besides teaching “Advanced Agricultural Technology Management” course every summer in Kazakhstan for last five years. He co-chaired the committee on “Mechanization and Precision Agriculture” in ASABE’s 2016 ‘Engineering and Technology Innovation for Global Food Security,’ in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Pierluigi Siano (M’09–SM'14) received the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information and electrical engineering from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He is an Associate Professor of Electrical Energy Engineering with the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Salerno. In 2013 he received the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in the competition sector electrical energy engineering. His research activities are centered on the integration of distributed energy resources in smart distribution systems and on planning and management of power systems. He has co-authored more than 160 papers including more than 70 international journals. Dr. Siano is Editor of Intelligent Industrial Systems, Springer, an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, member of the editorial board of more than thirty International Journals. He is the Vice-Chair of the Technical Committee on smart grids and a member of the Technical Committee on Renewable Energy Systems of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES). Dr. Rajasekhar Bala is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, NUS. He has broad research experience and interests ranging across: Air Quality, Climate Change, Aerosol Science and Technology, Environmental and Health Risk Assessment, and Water Quality. Dr. Bala has been actively involved in the development of the Environmental Engineering curriculum at NUS, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has taught a variety of courses in Environmental Science and Engineering. He has also been actively involved in promoting Environmental Education and Environmental Awareness, by giving public lectures and seminars, and contributing articles to magazines and newspapers.
Prof. Mohamed Nageeb Rashed . Professor of analytical and environmental chemistry, Pervious vice-dean for environmental affairs , faculty of Science, Aswan university, Egypt. His previous work was in Nasser Lake Development Authority in Aswan, Egypt as director of Environmental protection program of the Lake Nasser. He has completed his Ph.D. in the field of analytical environmental chemistry in 1989. His research interests have been analytical and environmental chemistry with special emphasis on wastewater impact and advanced oxidation treatment; photocatalysis, nanocatalyst, nanocomposite and adsorption techniques in water and wastewater treatment; water pollution monitoring, control and treatment ; and bioindicators for water pollution monitoring . Prof. Rashed has supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in the field of pollution, analytical and environmental chemistry. He has authored over 90 scientific papers in peer reviewed international journals, conferences, symposiums, book chapters, and book. Also, he served as a reviewer for various International Journals. Prof. Rashed participated as invited speaker in 20 conferences around the world. He acts as a consultant of environmental science and environmental health for NGOs, as well as a lecturer for awareness and environmental program for school students and farmers. Rashed acts as editor-in-chief, advisory board member, and editorial board member in 19 international journals in the fields of chemistry and environment. His society membership includes several international scientific societies. Prof.Rashed awarded the Egyptian National Award for environmental researches for the year 2001.
Guobao Song has his expertise in planetary health and human health in the context of climate change that challenge human well-being from multiple aspects, while human contribute to climate change by various activities, such as energy uses, food consumption and land use change. For human health, his interest is diet associated nexus study on carbon emission, water resources and energy consumption by connecting surveyed data and life-cycle assessment data are intended to answer questions, such as what is optimal diet to mitigate climate change and benefit human health. In addition, food desert and waste are his research interested topic, especially in developing countries, such as in China where urbanization is an important driver to diet change, life style change, and land use change.
Ganesh Raj Joshi joined UNCRD in May 2012 as a EST Researcher. Prior to this, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Natural Environment, University of the Ryukyus, Japan and actively involved in research in the field of earth and environment sciences. He has published numerous articles in peer-review journals in areas of environment, disaster and earth sciences. From 2001 to 2005, he was based in Nepal and worked as a Lecturer in the various colleges including Tri-Chandra Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
